Welcome to the hundreads of new subscribers who joined the club in the last months. We are a net comunity! This week we are proud to present the soul of the Ravino garden. Signor Giuseppe d'Ambra.Or "Peppe" for the locals. Many of you know him allready, but other need to beupdated because without this man we would not be able to present this natural theatre. He allways says: this is "a dream comes true", after 40 years of collecting "suculent" Plants from all over the world.this are the results.A small but fine botanic garden to visit and enjoy. He allways remember that life gives happiness to whom seriously build his own short story... This garden represents the story of a man and his love for the nature and the reproduction of it.
Peppe starts collecting succulent plants in the 60th's during his maritime engagment with a oil company.During his staying in mexican harbors and other south american docks , he started to sown the seeds of the plants . Back to Ischia, his native island, Peppe nurtured this passion with endless patience and care for many years, studying literature , taking part in seminars . As far as his wife used to say: I would like to be a cactus. The grant which was awarded to start the new adventure of a botanic garden is located close to the charming guest house with self catering apartments, owned by Peppe and Edith, his swiss wife, and now managed by the new generation, the sons Luca and Chris. see more...
