Works in the Botanic Garden are going forward. We build the small river with 2 fountain on the southwest part of the field. This corner is intended to became a small forest, so we plant small trees wich souraunds the spring of the stream.We use only local material as the tipically green stone. Some of them are 450pound of weight. The craftsmans that models this stones used to work only with an axe, no automatic equipment. It's a very hard job, but this kind of work last for a very long time. Other project are ready to take place on the south part of the park. Keep in contact for the news.
The municipal Museum “TORRIONE”
The "Torrione tower", was build by the university institute during the spanish government in the XVI century, with the intend to be a defence sight tower. There were many cannon on it, one of it remain till 1787 and was used in the magior local religious celebration. Till March an extension of the painter Bolivar will be hospitate in the tower.
The events we organised in this christmass days were sourrounded with a special atmosphere. The open air botanic lesson in the Park on the 29th was attempt from more than 100 person interested in cactus nature. New jear party on the 31st gets a good resonance on tourists and locals. The proceeds of the evening were devolved to the people in south west asia. We are going to plan some more events for the summer 2005 we all hope you'll be part of it! Unique thermal Parks With reference to its volcanic origins, the hydrothermal heritage of the island of Ischia is, as is well known, one of the richest in the world. The thermo-mineral island springs with their clearly evident "hyperthermability" captured the attention of the ancients right from the beginning. It is therefore hardly surprising that the thermal cures of Ischia actually date back to the VIII Century A.D., when the first Greek colonies, originating from Eubea, settled on the island.
